Need help with your Job Search? Check your CV? Here are a few tips:

Change
Transition
How are you doing? What are you doing?
I have holiday now (YAY!), but many of my contacts are in a job search situation and have no thought of holiday for this summer.
Instead, they are asking me to check their CVs, they are looking though indeed.ch and LinkedIn or whatever website they have chosen to check on jobs.
They are in the middle of change and transition. Some of them are moving, some have just moved, some are finishing up with school, others have been in the workplace for 30 years.
All are looking for a job, mostly out of necessity.
What about you? Are you in need of a new job, or are you looking for a better fit?
Here are a few tips I gave at a recent workshop:
· Be realistic with what I can do, what I want, what my values are BUT also with what the job market wants/needs at the moment, who might need my competencies (I may have to change tracks).
· A job-search is a FULL-TIME job and you need to consider it as this. While you are searching you also need to take good care of yourself and to make sure you are not heading towards burnout (and that your previous experience did not bur you out).
· Finally, make sure you have a list of resources: people who you can call on for help: friends, family, former and present mentors, career counselors and coaches, and job search coaches. Know who you can call on and who “gels” with you.
With this, I wish you a lovely week and if you are in the job-search, a productive and positive time.
