The next New THING that you want to do

Do you need or want to start something new?  There are some steps involved in the process, even before it becomes “a THING”. To be successful, I suggest the following steps and ideas.

When you want to succeed at a new endeavor:

First ASK yourself three things:

·      What do you want?

·      What have you already accomplished? What do you know? What can you do?

·      What has not worked – and why (the focus is on you and your patterns and behaviors)?

Then make a choice and move forward by:

·      Research (market research, etc – get all the important information needed) – assuming is a trap, ask questions until you have what you need to know.

·      Make sure the financials are and remain in order

·      Make sure every piece of material that goes out to the public, whether in print or digital, is correct and clean

·      Be clear and friendly with communication; never be aggressive or critical in any way shape or form, especially on social media, which is your “calling card” to the world

·      Be solution-driven and look at problems as opportunities for growth, change and learning

·      Make sure you do your due diligence with partners, clients, and anyone else you should have a contract with. Verbal contracts, although legal in Switzerland, can be very tricky

·      Take care of yourself.  After all, if you get sick, you can’t move forward.

·      Also, make sure you choose your work, projects and meetings wisely. Don’t overdo.

·      Dress for success. Look like you are a  ________

·      Make sure you keep good contacts warm. Get back to them and make them part of your network

Now you are ready to start thinking.  First start with “what you want”?  This can be the hardest part of the process for many reasons, and if you find it too hard, get back to me and we can have a chat.  That choice after the three questions may also be difficult.  No matter what, energy to move forward is key, so take care of yourself in all of this.

I will be writing about each of these things as a blog and then, eventually, turning it into a small book for anyone to use.

Take care and have a lovely weekend!
